Visit the Sights of the Freedom Trail ...
Your knowledgeable Hawthorne Guide will meet you at Quincy Market to begin
a full or half day of touring this unique city. It is a blend of historic buildings and contemporary skyscrapers, narrow winding streets and broad avenues, Victorian townhouses, and tight-knit ethnic neighborhoods.
Your ride along the Freedom Trail will take you to a number of world famous sites. The USS Constitution was launched in 1797 and today is the US Navy’s oldest commissioned ship. A walk through the North End will introduce you to one of Boston’s oldest and most historic neighborhoods with the Paul Revere House
and the Old North Church where lanterns were hung to signal Paul Revere.
Faneuil Hall, the Old State House, King’s Chapel, Old Granary Burial
Ground, site of the Boston Massacre, and Beacon Hill are all highlighted as
your guide relates the history, folklore and current events of Boston. The Back Bay,
the Boston Common and Public Gardens, “Cheers,” and upscale Newbury
Street are all highlighted.
If you are interested, a short ride over the Charles River will bring you to the city
of Cambridge, home to MIT and Harvard University. Famous Brattle Street, Harvard Square, and the Common are all part of the tour, as well as a walk through Harvard Yard. A luncheon can be arranged for you, or you may choose to browse through Quincy Market for lunch and shopping on your own.
Add a visit to The John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, The New England Aquarium, The Boston Museum of Science, or The Boston Museum of Fine
Arts to your itinerary to make your day in Boston complete. |
